Combined together Day 1,416

Listening to the radio today, their was a guest speaker sharing his joy.  He was blinded as a young lad,by his father.  It was a tragic gun accident, for which he held no animosity toward his father or God.  He talked about how things work together & come out in the end for good.  Thinking about what he said made a lot of sense.  Often we see bad things as ONLY bad, we don't take the time to consider the good that comes from some of the bad happenings.

In our own lives, I have seen our grandson get into some serious trouble.  Through this trouble, we came to discover a great need for workers in the prisons.  We were blessed to volunteer for 7 years in 2 programs that reached hundreds of men, and a 3rd program that I went on to work in for 1 1/2 years in which I was able to talk for a few hundred more.  After our time inside, we continue to work with men on the outside.  Still not sure who has been blessed more by this occurrence, them or us.  We have gotten so much from this ministry that we could not tell all that we have from it; but if you ask the men they say they are the more blessed.  So I will call it a draw.

Other times there are losses that later lead to people finding a future mate, who seems perfect also.  Or a business or home is lost, only to turn to a new path & that one is even better or brighter.  So many examples all around us. Tragic accidents, the movie Soul Surfer, where she lost an arm; but in the end said she wouldn't change it because of all the people she was able to reach because of that loss.

This guest speaker spoke of Romans 8:28  ALL things work together for good for those who love the Lord.  He told how manure used by itself would burn a plant; but combined with water it becomes a fertilizer making things grow tall & strong.    Joseph's brothers meant him harm, as did many along his journey to his final position; but in the end God used all of it together to weave a good thing.

God can take all our circumstances & weave them together into a good, even great thing.  If I had not gone through both the good & bad in my life, I would not be the person I am today.  He has woven all these experiences into who I am.  We need to count it all joy, think it & believe it.  The guest speaker was Jimmy Gale & I heard him on WWIB with Mark Halverson on Friday, 12/21/12 a.m.

If you have an opportunity to find out more about him, I suggest you do.  It could truly make a difference in your life.  Be blessed & smile ;)
