This picture is passing around. It is fascinating reading all the comments. A lot of them negative & taking it as an affront to men as the 'bad guy'. When I read it, I saw a beautiful gift being passed down. I also believe it is something a mother can pass to her daughters. Not just for the opposite gender; but for themselves & their own genders, too.
It is my own personal belief that respect is something that we can only expect if we earn it; but it can also my opinion that we can choose to give it freely.

My response on FB to those who were commenting on this picture:
Yes, respect is something one can
not demand; but by the same token it does not mean that we cannot choose to
give respect even though not yet earned. We were taught that we have NO right
to get angry at someone who we felt disrespected us, if we had not been a
person who first deserved that respect. By the same token, we were also taught
to be the kind of person who chose to show respect to those we meet. Not
because they earned it; but because we were someone who deserved their respect.
I have found this often works beautifully (& yes some folks will never be
respected because they are just plain not ever going to be worthy; but I don't
know that on first meeting, do I.....) JMHO ;)
In conclusion, it is up to you how you choose to treat people. You can wait for them to show themselves OR you can show them respect & very possibly make a positive difference in their life.
Have a GREAT day.

The Awesome Jar
Saw this idea on Facebook & it is such a positive thought I would like to share. I cannot say who it originally came from; but I don't they will mind it being shared with others.
You take a jar, any jar plain or fancy. You can leave it plain & use colorful paper, or decorate it in a special way. Now comes the special part.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Start the year with an empty jar and fill it with notes about good things that happen. Then, on New Year’s Eve, empty it and see what awesome stuff happened that year. I think it’ll be a good way for me to keep stuff in perspective.” (you can start right now or anytime)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We don’t have to look for the negative, that pops up easily. So to keep my focus on positive things I am going to begin this now. There is just so much negative in the world, it is always in my face.
I am going to focus on good, look for the good in my life & the lives that surround me, close off the negative thoughts, words, & actions. Why would I want to even repeat anything negative, why would I want those thoughts stirring in my head, good is so much healthier & then the negative thoughts & people don’t win.
I am blessed in so many many ways, God is so good to both Eddie & I, so it is time to keep the positive in the lead!!!!!

You make the difference!!
Today I will share 5 Lessons in Life
from Dr. Seuss
1. Today you are you, that is truer than true.
There is noone alive that is youer than you!!
2. Why fit in when you were born to stand out??
3. You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
4. Be who you are & say what you feel,
because those who mind don't matter, &
those who matter don't mind.
5. Today I shall behave,
as if this is the day I will be remembered.
For a fun fellow, he was so simply wise!!!
You left us quite a legacy, Dr. Seuss~~~

Look for the good~~~in your life!!!!
I believe this idea will not only 'make a difference in the lives of others'; but also in my own life. If I improve my attitude & outlook; then I can be so much better for others too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~My niece, Jodi, shared this idea from pinterest.
Valentine's Day is not just ONE day
Happy Valentine's Day Everyone
Take time today to be kind & make a difference in someone's life.
Then take this day with you all year round.
There is enough negative in this world,
a little kindness will go a very long way,
& it doesn't cost need to cost anything, either!!
Do you know someone who has had a particularly rough time of life?
Someone who is alone, shut in, no visitors or family, or just no family nearby?
~~
How about a smile for the postal worker, or clerk at the store, the gas station attendant, or person at the fast food joint?
Did you know that there are people out there who think many of these positions are filled with people who are below them? They treat them like their servants, that is just wrong.
~~
Take time to say thank you for their service; because that is what they are doing. Serving you willingly, to give you something you may truly need. Don't forget the the military, police, fire, doctors, & nurses. Dentists, & lab technicians, all do a needed service for which we have come accustomed to receiving. Take time to look around you this coming year, & show your appreciation with a genuine smile & thank you from the heart.
~~
Spread Valentine's Day all around your world, all year long
Be blessed, & thank you for visiting with me!!
Einstein, words of wisdom
“The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.” Albert Einstein
So many children, & adults, are limited by folks (adult & other children) who lead them to believe because they may not have a lot of head knowledge, they will not amount to much.
This is not true, it is imaginative thinkers...the ones who are willing to step out of the box, that find the way to solve, create, invent the solutions.
Encourage your children, your family/friends (yup even us adults need encouraging), & yourself to look into those places that may hold the key to that question being asked. You may just have the perfect solution!! ;)
If you get the opportunity to watch the Hallmark movie, A smile as big as the moon, I so highly recommend you do. It is awesome!!!!!!!!
